Top Squadron in London & South-East

...Each year, the RAF Air Cadets carry out a series of inspections to find the top squadron in the Corps. The selection process is a long one and begins with each Wing submitting their nomination to their Regional Commandant who carries out a paper sift before visiting the top three in their region.

Earlier this year, 2433 (Ramsgate and Manston) Squadron was nominated by Wing Commander Goodayle RAFVR(T), Officer Commanding Kent Wing, as top large squadron in Kent. After an initial paper sift at Headquarters London & South East Region, 2433 Squadron was proud to be selected for inspection by Group Captain Lewis, Regional Commandant, as one of the top three in the region.

Following that inspection, the nominations from each region went to Headquarters Air Cadets to allow Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore McCafferty, to decide which would be inspected in the final round of the selection.

Following an anxious wait, 2433 Sqn are exceptionally proud to be able to report that Commandant Air Cadets will visit Manston in the coming weeks to inspect the sqn as one of the top three large units in the Corps nationally. An accolade of which the sqn is extremely proud.

2433 Sqn wishes the very best of luck to the other two sqns who have reached this stage of the selection and is proud to be among their company.

The sqn looks forward to hosting Air Cdre McCafferty at Manston very soon, showcasing all that is best about the Air Cadets.

As always #withspirit...
