Region Champions!...

...2433 (Ramsgate and Manston) Squadron are exceptionally pleased to have been officially named as top large Squadron in London & South East Region for 2016/17.

This honour has been hard won and was secured following an inspection visit by Regional Commandant, Group Captain Lewis. Accompanied by Assistant Regional Commandant, Squadron Leader Rudd, the Regional Commandant toured the facilities and met the cadets, staff, Civilian Committee and supporters.

Present, supporting the Sqn were Commandant DFTDC and Honorary Sqn President, Wing Commander Grun and Mr Alan Wells and Mrs Jeanne Wilson of The Worshipful Company of Firefighters. Gp Capt Lewis was also greeted by our Australian Sister Sqn, 302 Sqn AAFC, by video.

During the visit Gp Capt Lewis saw the Sqn Band, took part in a radio communications exercise, spoke with our brand new recruits, flew in our new part task trainer (flight simulator) and joined cadets undergoing fire training at DFTDC HQ.

It was a great evening and everyone at 2433 Sqn were pleased to find out that we had been selected as top large Sqn in the region, which covers London, Essex, Middlesex, Surrey, Sussex and Kent. We wait to hear if we will be further inspected by Commandant Air Cadets as top large Sqn nationally. Fingers-crossed!
