Remembrancetide...
...Is a very important time of year for the family that is HM Forces.
The Air Cadets are an integral part of that family so taking part in the annual Remembrance events is a major highlight of the calendar.
The events began on Saturday 5th November when cadets and staff took to the streets of Ramsgate to sell poppies for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, for which there is always a great deal of goodwill from those who buy.
Sunday 13th November was Remembrance Day and 2433 Squadron found themselves in two places at one time. For the first time in a number of years, cadets and staff attended the Remembrance Day service at Manston village War Memorial. The memorial is located on the village green, opposite St. Catherine's Church, the RAF Manston station church.
Meanwhile, in Ramsgate, The Manston Band of No. 2433 Sqn led the parade through Ramsgate to the War Memorial at St. George's Church. After a wreath laying ceremony, there was a Service of Remembrance inside the church.
The Band then led the parade back through Ramsgate and a very appreciative crowd.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them...
