Armed Forces Weekend

Armed Forces Weekend...

...Will soon be upon us and 2433 Squadron will be taking part. This year, however, will see the Squadron 'on the road' down to Dorset. Swanage to be precise, in order to join in with the towns' annual Armed Forces Weekend events on 27th and 28th June.

As part of the 2433 Squadron 50th Anniversary celebrations and also to mark the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, Ramsgate & Manston Air Cadets will travel to Swanage for the weekend and will be found at the Swanage Steam Railway.

The Squadron Band will be playing and cadets and staff will be helping out in other areas of the weekend of events.

There is a very special locomotive that lives and works at the Swanage Railway - our namesake - 'Manston'. The Battle of Britain class of locomotives were all named after aircraft, airfields or people involved with the battle and 'Manston' is one of the few that survive in working order.

We will report via this website and our Twitter feed over the weekend. Check back for more!
