Operation Dynamo 75

Operation Dynamo 75...

...Concluded on Monday 25th May with the rturn from Dunkirk of a number of the famous 'Little Ships' that had been involved in the resuce of hundreds of thousands of allied troops, trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk.

Only 'little ships' could get close enough to the beaches to rescue the troops and take them to larger ships and in turn, to the Royal Navy vessels waiting to transport them home to England. In some cases, the 'little ships' made the channel crossing laden with troops, only to return to collect more. In the case of the paddle steamer, 'Medway Queen', some 7000 troops were rescued in 7 different crossings.

True heroism and it was a honour to be involved and play for the return of the ships to Ramsgate Royal Harbour.
