Dunkirk 75th Anniversary
Dunkirk 75th Anniversary...
...You are all invited to join the Band of No. 2433 (Ramsgate & Manston) Squadron, in support of the Operation Dynamo 75th Anniversary Commemorations in Ramsgate Royal Harbour on Monday 25th May 2015.
The band will be located on the East Pier, next to the Royal Harbour Brasserie, from approximately 2pm, playing as the flotilla of Dunkirk Little Ships returns to the harbour from Dunkirk.
This week-long commemoration comes to an end on Monday and 2433 Squadron are particularly proud to have been invited to accompany the return of the Little Ships from their journey across the English Channel, recreating the return in 1940 as they helped rescue over three hundred thousand troops stranded on the beaches around Dunkirk.
One Little Ship we will proud to see is the Sundowner. This Little Ship is permanently berthed in Ramsgate Royal Harbour and her Captain was Charles Lightoller, the most senior member of crew to survive the sinking of the Titanic.
Come and show your support for the event and hear the band play on the East Pier...
